Newburgh NY mayor offers city for 9/11 terrorist trial

NEWBURGH Mayor Nicholas Valentine Friday invited the federal Justice Department to hold the 9/11 terrorist trials in downtown Newburgh.

Public officials are dead set against the plan to hold them in New York City and a local backlash with talk of possibly relocating them to Orange or Westchester counties prompted Valentine to invite them to his city.

Reuters – The number of Americans receiving emergency food from the largest U.S. hunger-relief charity and its partners rose 46 percent from 2005 to 2009, according to a report released on Tuesday.
