$160,000 Per Stimulus Job? White House Calls That ‘Calculator Abuse’

Posting its results late this afternoon at Recovery.gov, the White House claimed 640,329 jobs have been created or saved because of the $159 billion in stimulus funds allocated as of Sept.

So let’s see. Assuming their number is right — 160 billion divided by 1 million. Does that mean the stimulus costs taxpayers $160,000 per job?

AP – Consumer prices in the 16 nations that use the euro were down in October for a fifth consecutive month while unemployment continued to rise, the EU statistics agency said Friday, suggesting the region’s economic recovery was sluggish.

Feds: Leader of radical Islam group killed in raid (AP)

Ind. Republicans want to delay jobless tax hikes (AP)

AP – The state should delay unemployment tax increases on businesses from 2010 to 2011 to help companies retain workers and possibly wait long enough for a federal bailout, Republicans who control the Indiana Senate said Tuesday.
